Each year Artworld
of Sherway and Sherway Gardens Shopping Centre
hold an Annual Fine Art Auction to support the Spider Jones
“Believe to Achieve” Charitable Foundation.
This year's exclusive event will be held on September 11,
2010, at 6:45 PM after-hours in the centre court of Sherway
Gardens Shopping Centre.
The Believe to Achieve
Foundation is a Toronto based registered charity founded
by media personality, award winning author and former Golden
Glove Boxing Champion Spider
Jones.

Born into poverty, violence and
bigotry, Spider survived the treacherous streets of
a vicious world most of us only see on the six o’clock
news and has become one of the most charismatic motivational
speakers of our time. Through his foundation, Spider
speaks to thousands of 'At Risk' kids who could easily
pick a life of crime - with the hope and belief -
that through his motivational efforts and the example
of his own success, he can make a difference in their
lives.
The goal of the auction is to raise funds to continue
the excellent work Spider does and provide schools
and community out reach groups with motivational seminars,
workshops and Believe to Achieve bursaries for promising
kids to further their education.
As Spider says 'At risk kids can be shown that my
phrase 'Liberation through Education' works'. Spider
further instructs: “Life hands you fate, destiny
is what you do with it. You have to believe to achieve!”.

one of Spider's speeches, a teacher wrote:
“Spider has
one of the most extraordinary and touching stories I’ve
ever heard.” It is amazing to see the impact he
has on students. His lessons on dealing with peer-pressure,
racial harmony, bullying and low self-esteem are incredibly
insightful. He makes you believe nothing is impossible.
The students were so receptive they actually mobbed him
afterwards with tons of questions and requests for autographs.”

Evening
Agenda
- The evening will begin at 6:45
PM after hours at “Artworld of Sherway” located
inside the beautiful Sherway Gardens Shopping Centre.
- Guests will enjoy a “Spider
Jones” cocktail and browse through an array of paintings
from over 30 gallery artists. Spider will be on hand to
greet guests and welcome everyone to The 2010 Annual Spider
Jones Fine Art Auction.
- At 7:30 PM the sultry sounds
of the multi talented Jay Vasquez will launch the evening
events. Guests will be invited to the centre court of
Sherway Gardens where they will be met with art for every
taste and a truly memorable culinary experience from the
creative catering experts at Lemon
Meringue.
- The Silent Auction will showcase
framed original art by recognized artists utilizing various
mediums including watercolours, oils, and acrylics encompassing
an array of genres such as landscapes, figurative, abstract
and urban.
- There will be works for every
collector's taste.
- As an added bonus, each work
of art is framed with a high quality frame from the beautiful
designer collection of frames from Fotiou
Frames. Fotiou is the manufacturer of high
quality European frame mouldings and again this year,
has generously framed each painting.
- And now for the highlight of
the evening!!
- A live auction featuring 8 select
pieces will take place. Be prepared for some exceptional
works during this portion of the evening!!
General
Bidding Information:
The Silent Auction
- Bidder numbers will be provided
at the welcome desk upon arrival
- The silent auction will take place
in 3 increments. Silent auction sections close at 8:15
PM, 9:00 PM and 9:45 PM
- A bid sheet with the following information
accompanies each work:
* Artist's Name
* Title of the Work
* Medium
* Estimate of Value as provided by the artist or donor
- Please print your name, bidder number
and your bid on the bid sheet
- Bid increase increments are $10
to $20 depending on estimated value of the work
- The highest bidder at the closing
time of the section wins the work of art
- The closing bid circled by the auction
official is the winning bid
The Live Auction:
- Throughout the evening a select
group of paintings will be auctioned through a live
auction featuring a guest auctioneer
- The auctioneer will announce the
details of each painting
- Bidding will begin at modest minimum
bid
- Each guest may bid by raising his
or her bidder number and the piece will be sold to the
highest bidder.
- Payment can be made for each item
at any time during the evening at your convenience
- Acceptable forms of payment are:
Cash/Debit, Visa, or M/C.
- Charitable purchases are HST exempt

will be listed along with details visit the “ART
AUCTION PREVIEW” page. Visit often as you
wish, as the listings are updated as new works are received.
The entire proceeds of the auction are in support of Spider's
Believe to Achieve Charitable Foundation as each artist,
Fotiou Frames and Artworld of Sherway have donated the works.
Tax receipts will be issued to all purchasers of Auction
Tickets and Auction items in compliance with the appropriate
regulations.
All items are sold as is. The staff of Artworld of Sherway
will be pleased to answer any question on each of the paintings.
